Biogas Generator

Biogas generation for global economies

  • Reduction of fugitive methane emissions is a climate imperative as methane is 85 times more harmful than CO2 to climate over a 20 year period or 28 times over a 100 year period.
  • CTL has worked with micro-AD global leaders Sistema Bio to demonstrate small biogas generators in Kenya and has supplied CAGE 6KW biogas generators to UK, India and Africa projects.
  • There are many opportunities for CAGE biogas technology in Sub-Saharan Africa and many emerging economies, where much effort being made to develop practical biogas production solutions to use local waste processed on site. On-site waste processing and energy production is a cost and environment sweet spot for biogas. There is widespread use of diesel generators for off-grid power: air quality is severely impacted and diesel cost is very high.
  • A first 14kVA plug-and-play generator product is now available for commercial supply. This is available with waste heat recovery (CHP). I t is being supplied to farms to use methane from slurry lagoons and AD systems, to landfill operators and to convert food waste to power.
  • The market for the use of gas from AD and landfill sites has been strengthened following The Global Methane Pledge at COP26. This aims to reduce methane emissions by 30% over the decade to 2030.
